Myrtle Beach: Aquarium

One evening we visited Ripley's Aquarium. The kids loved it, but I didn't think it was quite worth the outrageous ticket prices.

Below the kids are glued to a documentery on sharks (we were waiting to enter the shark exhibit). Ellie was upset that she wasn't being held.

Ellie had to sit in the stroller because Drew was holding Alaina and I was holding my camera. The kids loved that they could crawl down a tunnel, pop up, and find themselves in the midst of a fish tank. I think they also loved that Pappa crawled in there with them.Of course he also had to crawl back out.The children also enjoyed the stingray pool. The attendants told us to put our hands in the water and hold still and wait for a ray to swim by. Alaina and Logan had a hard time holding still so Liz kept moving away from them (but of course Lainey followed her). Also, all we got from the rays were splashes until a diver came in and helped us out by physically guiding the rays over to our waiting hands.Ellie spent her time sampling the water. She kept dipping her hand in, then popping it in her mouth to suck off any lingering aquarium water. Yuck.We were all excited about the rays, me included. I was so excited, in fact, that when the Lizzie and Lainey leaned forward to pet the rays, I did the same, blocking Andrew's view of the girls and thereby ruining the picture he had been so patiently waiting for. Sorry, Babe. The kiddos also enjoyed just looking at tanks of fish and watching the standard diver-feeding-the-fish show.
