Mt Vernon with family

We enjoyed doing some sight-seeing with Drew's sister's family when they were in town.  Our first stop was Mt. Vernon.

The little girls favorite parts were the baby animals (pigs and sheep) and blacksmith demonstration (Lainey insisted on watching till the smith completed his S hook).
The house tour was tricky with Ellie (turned out to be a preview of our Williamsburg experience).  She kept demanding to see Washington's teeth.
We've been to Mt. Vernon many times, but we still managed to experience some new things there like the Blacksmith and an audience with Lady Washington.  Lainey pretty much elbowed her way up to the front and was super chatty with Martha (announcing her favorite color and describing her sisters and so on).
This visit we stopped in the museum (first time ever) before heading to the Education Center.  Ellie and I didn't last long (she kept trying to touch things and was loudly demanding to see Washington's dentures).  As always, the highlight of the Education Center was the children's playroom.

I LOVE the pic of Ellie on the rocking chair. Totally shows her personality! Cheeky little thing! Jordan is sooo excited for them to stay over:)
