Weekend Sightseeing

Over Easter weekend we accompanied Drew's sister and her family to some local sites.  As with our Mt Vernon experience, we found something new to do at the Udvar Hazy Air & Space museum: the lookout tower (somehow we'd somehow never gotten around to it in previous visits).

Below: Clarissa, Lainey, and Ellie watch the planes land.
So, it turns out you are not allowed to carry kids on your shoulders at Udvar Hazy, but the little girls got some shoulder time before one of the security guards set us straight (I had seen a sign, but thought it only applied to the upper level).
Below is a rare prego pic of me (and Flat Stanley).
On Sunday, in between opening Easter baskets and afternoon church we headed downtown to see some monuments.  My girls and their cousins:
Drew and his sister, Carrie (and Ellie who refused to be parted from him, even for a picture):
The kids really enjoyed seeing the waterfalls at the FDR monument (our favorite one to visit).
Clarissa and Lainey:

After I took the following picture Andrew asked why I didn't wipe her face first.  Oops.
At the Lincoln monument there was a bit of a kerfuffle when I tried to take another picture of Alaina and Clarissa together.  Ellie insisted (physically) that she get a picture of just her and Lainey.
Here's the best picture of these two together:
