Back to School Prep

Today I took Liz to get a haircut and then as a special treat, her first pedicure. She was super excited. The shop had special kids chairs! How cute is that?! Nana joined Liz with Laina on her lap and when the pedicurist was done painted Nana's toes he painted Lainey's too. She kept looking at them and saying "Nook, my toes. Nook, my toes."
Reading a fashion mag. She's grown up so fast. I got my first pedicure a day or two before my wedding--Liz is only six.Along the same vien, I got my first toe nail embellishment last week. Liz got her's today.
Butterfly gems. Too bad she can't wear flip flops to school to show them off.

Sisters playing

Peek-a-boo, kisses, and dancing. And Gabrielle didn't seem to mind much.

Photo Session Take 2

On Wednesday we had a second photo session with our second outfits. Nana helped by holding babies and passing out teddy grahms to fussy children (oh, and she bought the clothing).
Aunt Codi took the pictures (I tried a bit too).Aside from the big group shots she took a picture of each sister grouping. Codi's daughters were cute & compliant. My girls, on the other hand, weren't very cooperative. This is their best shot (by Codi). And this is the one I got. Not cool, Ladies.
Lizzie was grumpy most of the time.
Actually she started out okay. She was excited to hold Gabby in the picture. Then Gabs drooled on Lizzie's arm and Liz never quite recovered from that.Iris & Lizzie
Nana and all her granddaughters (all east coasters, the boys are out west).
Olive & Gabrielle are only seven months part. Oli was fascinated with Ellie's headband and kept pulling at it.
Alaina had a meltdown too.
She was much happier when pictures were over.

Photo Session Take 1

Nana wanted a picture of all six girlies in the blue tops she bought them so Codi and I tried to do our own little photo session last night. It didn't work too well. Mostly because Alaina refused to sit with the other girls (she sat briefly when Codi gave her some car keys to hold). Oh, and the sun was in all their eyes. Oops.
After pictures we went to dinner at our favorite breakfast place. We had a fabulous time until an ornery old lady came and chewed us out for being too loud. She said we were "ridiculous" and that we shouldn't take our children out until they are "trained." We were pretty surprised because we thought the children were actually behaving well. Okay, the babies were crying and sometimes being loud, but come on, they're babies! The lady actually singled out one of the babies to complain about.
.
Happily as soon as Ms. Cranky stomped away both restaurant managers came over and apologized (and brought us dessert pancakes, yum). Also, about half an hour later my father saw the same lady chewing out the clerks at another store so we figured that she might just be ornery in general (and, yes, I realize thatit could be that she was taking her anger out on the clerks because she was mad at us).
