My first stint teaching Joy School ended today. I only have five kids (years ago my mom had had double digits in my little brother's class) and it's only two hours a day, two days a week. It was fun, but tiring and I'm looking forward to a few months when all I have to do is drop Alaina off.

My unit was on the "joy of the earth." We took a nature walk, made bird feeders, did crayon rubbings of leaves, planted basil, picked up trash, and made applesauce, amongst other things.

Today we took a field trip to Nalls nursery which was a fun way to end the unit (and meant I only had to teach for an hour).
