Soft Play Room

On one of Andrew's recent Fridays off (love the alternate work schedule) we took the little girlies to the soft playroom at the local rec center.  They loved it.  I loved that Drew played with them so much that I got to just sit back and watch.  He definitely plays differently with them than I do.  And, for the record, Ellie loved going down the slide head-first, on her back when Drew pushed her down, but then I tried it in her baby class a few days later and she got scared.

See how sweetly and daintily Lainey walked across this makeshift balance beam?
Ellie was a different story.  Pretty much as soon as she climbed up, she jumped off.  And by jumped, I mostly mean stepped off because she hasn't figured out how to make both feet leave a surface at the same time yet.
She had some weird, even dangerous-looking landings but she seemed fine and always bounced back up with a smile on her face--even when she lost her balance and fell off backwards instead of jumping forwards.
We were so surprised and amused by, and quite frankly concerned about, Ellie jumping that we kind of stopped paying attention to Alaina.  But no worries.  She knows how to demand attention when she needs it.
