We got back from California yesterday. It was a lot of fun. Our itinerary:
Saturday: arrive. I got to San Diego roughly eleven hours before Drew (and four hours before check-in) so I visited a surfing museum, unpacked and went clothes and food shopping. I also tried to take a nap before I picked up Andrew at 11:30 p.m. CA time (2:30 a.m. DC time). Unfortunately I did not wake up to my alarm and ended up picking him up almost two hours late.
Sunday: recuperate from day of travel, hang out at the pool, family talent show
Monday: DISNEYLAND! Enough said.
Tuesday: chill at the beach. It was nice, though somehow changing diapers in the sand isn't super relaxing.
Wednesday: Lego Land
Thursday: Wild Animal Park
Friday: Hang out at the pool, slowly pack, casino night, plan the next family vacay
Saturday: go home to this: Now that I'm back I have to deal with the mess we left behind. When I travel it sometimes takes me up to a week to fully unpack and get back to my normal routine. There's no time for that this week (plus a "normal routine" is impossible since we don't really know where we're living next week). We have to be out of our apartment by Saturday night. We packed a bunch of boxes before we left and I honestly thought that we had maybe a 1/3 of the packing done. Now I realize that it wasn't even close. We have way too much stuff. Today we packed a lot and I have come to the conclusion that my children have far too many toys and clothes.

You'll have to start a big pile for the consignment sale!! I wish I could come help you pack...I actually don't mind packing...strange, I know.
Wait, what??? Where are you going?
