Another long Saturday

Today was our second time babysitting for our co-op. It went well, even though it was at the end of another busy day.

First we got up early for family pictures. Andrew grumbled a bit about having to get up at 6:45 a.m. on a Saturday until I pointed out that he is willing to get up that early for skiing. I think the pictures went well aside from the fact that Alaina slept through the whole thing and Lizzie is into fake, toothless smiles right now. We went straight from pictures to last Lizzie's last soccer game. Overall she had a lot of fun, but about three fourths of the way into the game she ran over to us in tears and said that she was tired. After the game we took pictures with the Mormon kids:
I wanted to do a single shot of Liz, but as soon as I separated her from the group she admitted that she needed to go to the bathroom.
After the game Andrew went rock climbing with a friend and I hung out at home with the girls. I tried to make Lizzie take a nap. It didn't work. It never works. Instead we played a math game, then made edible playdough. Liz used the dough to build a volcano, a cat, a snowman, and a spider.
All six kids came to co-op today, but it was manageable because their arrivals were so staggered and we were so scheduled: play in Lizzie's room, drive to nearby park, return, art, eat, then art or puzzles. Going to the park was fun. The boys were very excited about riding in the same car as Andrew. The girls piled in the van and were very noisy and giggly. At the park four of the six non-diapered kids had to pee in the bushes. Favorite moment of evening: listening to the kids sing in unison "There's a party in my tummy! So yummy! So yummy!" during dinner. Our pizza arrived so soon after the kids left that before we opened the door we thought the knocker was a parent coming to retrieve some forgotten jacket or toy. By 8:30 all the toys and art supplies were cleaned up, Lizzie was looking at books in her bed, and we were about to consume our pizza and soda.
